Image Compressor / Compress to 200KB

Cleared for upload · 200KB

200KB

Under the limit. Still recognisably you.

Resumes, portfolio submissions and professional profile photos usually give more headroom than a strict government form. 200KB keeps far more visible detail than a 50KB or 100KB pass of the same picture.

Detail budget

More kilobytes, less visible compression

200KB

Bar length shows relative byte budget, not a promise of proportional sharpness — but roughly, four times the bytes of a 50KB file means noticeably less visible compression on the same photo.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why does 200KB look noticeably better than 50KB or 100KB?

200KB gives roughly four times the data budget of a 50KB limit. With more bytes to work with, the compression search settles on a much higher quality setting before hitting the size cap, so fine detail like hair, texture and background survives better.

Is 200KB too big for some upload forms?

Most resume portals, portfolio sites and document upload fields accept 200KB or more. Always check the specific limit stated on the form — if it says 100KB or 50KB, use that tool instead.

Do the width and height change?

No. Only the encoding quality changes. Pixel dimensions stay exactly as uploaded.

Can I compress a scanned document or PNG to 200KB?

Yes. PNG files are compressed on the server using palette reduction, which keeps scanned text and diagrams more legible than a plain quality slider.

Is my photo saved anywhere after compression?

No. The image is processed for this one compression and then discarded.
